In Aaron’s own words: Creating custom, artistic, outdoor, usable spaces is my passion.  As a young child at 9 years old, I began building a lawn mowing business which expanded into an interest in gardens and design as I got older.  After high school, I pursued my passion for gardening and landscaping by completing a five-year Landscape Architecture program at Michigan State University.  Upon graduation in 2008, I began a new business designing and installing custom gardens with the help of my crew. I live in Ann Arbor and provide business service in the area.

Over the years, Gardens by Aaron Hammer has evolved into a team that works collaboratively to specialize in custom landscape design and installation for clients looking for more than just filling a space. We focus on aesthetic design, combined with purpose and function of using the space, paired with concept.  Using an in-depth understanding of concept gardens such as Meditation, Japanese, Zen, English, Butterfly, Rain, and Cottage Gardens, we work personally with each client, combining our expertise and their vision to bring their garden to life. The process usually begins with one of our designers that meet with a client on site to discuss their vision and analyze the conditions for the project. Some projects only require a simple conceptual design and written proposal; others require a more detailed proposal with a hand-drawn, scaled custom design.
